GOALS: These goals determine the content and character of the Psychology program:
- Students will demonstrate familiarity with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.
- Students will understand and apply basic research methods in psychology, including proper research design and data analysis.
- Students will demonstrate critical thinking skills in their evaluation and use of information.
- Students will demonstrate effective communication skills in a variety of formats including writing, speaking, and report formats (PowerPoint, poster).
- Students will demonstrate an effective integration of psychological findings with their faith beliefs

Sociology
GOALS: These goals determine the content and character of the Sociology program:
- Students will demonstrate understanding of the discipline of sociology and its role in contributing to our understanding of social reality.
- Students will demonstrate the role of theory in sociology through definition, application, and historical analysis.
- Students will demonstrate understanding of the role of evidence and qualitative and quantitative methods in sociology, including proper research design and data analysis.
- Students will develop an understanding of cultural differences, the term “cultural” broadly encompassing national origin, race, ethnicity, but also class, gender, age, religion, or physical and mental ability.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to apply a sociological perspective to everyday life, in particular how to work for social justice in socially diverse groups, societies, and the global community.
- Students will utilize opportunities for integrating life goals and professional career interests with a sociological perspective.
- Students will demonstrate effective communication skills in a variety of formats including writing, speaking, and report formats (PowerPoint, poster).
- Students will demonstrate an effective integration of sociological findings with their faith beliefs.

Family Science
GOALS: These goals determine the content and character of the Family Science program:
- Students will demonstrate familiarity with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, and historical trends in Family Science.
- Students will express satisfaction with the professional content they received through the FMLY classes.
- Students will demonstrate critical thinking skills in their evaluation and use of information.
- Students will demonstrate effective communication skills in a variety of formats including writing and speaking (PowerPoint, poster).
- Students will demonstrate an effective integration of Family Science findings with their faith beliefs.
