Global nursing can be a full-time endeavor or an added facet to your professional impact or influence. With this degree doors of opportunity will open to you to lead others in an international nursing short-term trip, or you may look to transition professionally into this arena full-time. Even here, in the United States, there are opportunities to serve people from around the world who have come to our shores.

Leadership for a World in Need

Oklahoma Baptist University is a leader in Nursing Education. OBU is here to help you become a leader in the health care industry. Whether you want to practice nursing in an international context overseas, or cross-culturally here in the United States, this MSN program will prepare you to help shape the future of nursing care. You will learn from leaders who are already involved in global nursing. You will have the opportunity to experience global nursing first-hand while you study.

A Practicum to Remember

You will have the opportunity to construct a practicum experience for yourself that brings to life the subject matter you have been studying in class. You will be able to travel overseas to a location of your choice to engage in nursing care, or you can connect with one of several health care centers here in Oklahoma City or across the country that reach out to people from various cultural backgrounds. We want you to experience global nursing first-hand. We will work with you to make it happen.

Your studies here can be shaped to fit your desired goals in your present position or the position you have your eye on. Our professors work with you to craft projects in line with your goals in the program. This is not a one-size fits all MSN. Your Capstone project will be designed and crafted by you as you look to a current or future global nursing issue that needs to be addressed. Your MSN program is limited only by the constraints you place upon it.

Engaging and Practical Instruction

Your courses are designed to be very interactive. You and your fellow classmates engage current issues and topics in the health care industry. You are challenged to think in ways that you learn to make quality decisions and lead others through complex decisions. An MSN from OBU will allow you to step into greater leadership positions in your current position and cross-cultural settings as well.

Foundational Ethics

At the OBU Graduate School, we utilize materials from Character First in class to help you strengthen your professional ethic. You will be encouraged to put into practice character qualities that make you a stronger leader in the classroom, at work and at home. As a graduate, we want you to succeed, but we want you to succeed in doing what is right.
