Symphonic Band The Symphonic Band is the University's principal instrumental ensemble. Concerts presented during the academic year feature works of diverse character selected to increase the professional competence of instrumentalists. Membership is open to all students by audition. The Symphonic Band is directed by Dr. Jim Hansford. |
Bison Jazz Orchestra The Bison Jazz Orchestra is an auditioned jazz ensemble. Brass, rhythm, and wind players are invited to audition and be a part of OBU's premiere live jazz experience. Membership is open to all students. For more information, contact Mr. Kevin Pruiett. |
University Ringers The University Ringers Handbell Choir is recognized as one of America's most outstanding bell choirs. In 1990, the group was included in the first edition of the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers' publication, Handbells in Education, as one of two college handbell programs in the United States designated as "Exemplary." Membership is open to all students by audition. The University Ringers are directed by Dr. Ron Davis. |
Bison Glee Club Founded in 1938 by Warren M. Angell, former dean of the College of Fine Arts, the Bison Glee Club is an auditioned group of the finest male musicians on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University. The group has long been considered one of the premiere men's choruses in the Southwest and has toured extensively throughout the United Stated as well as in Canada, Europe and the Far East. The Bison Glee Club is under the direction of Dr. David De Seguirant. |
University Chorale Since its founding in 1963, the University Chorale at Oklahoma Baptist University has been its premiere mixed ensemble. Comprised of 30 of OBU’s finest singers selected by audition, Chorale’s purpose is “to present advanced choral literature to the OBU campus and community.” University Chorale maintains an active performing schedule both on and off campus. The University Chorale is under the direction of Dr. David De Seguirant. |
Bisonette Glee Club The Bisonettes are OBU's all women's chorus. Like all other groups at OBU, the Bisonettes have toured throughout the United States and have just completed their first recording. Membership in the Bisonettes is open to all female students by audition. The Bisonettes are directed by Dr. Bonnie Sneed. |
