Music Main Event

What is Music Main Event?
This event is a time for prospective music majors and minors to visit the OBU campus and attend music classes, ensemble rehearsals, lessons, concerts, and seminars about financial aid and admissions.

When is it?
Music Main Event will be February 18, 2008 on the OBU campus. The annual Concerto-Aria Concert begins at 8:30 p.m. on February 18.

Who is invited?
You are! Specifically, we invite high school juniors and seniors, but anyone with an interest in OBU music programs is welcome to attend.

Where will I stay?
If you would like to stay overnight, you will have the opportunity to stay in OBU dorms and apartments if you desire. Space is limited and if you would like this opportunity, please contact the Division of Music as soon as possible. There also are many lodging choices in Shawnee. Please inquire if you would like information about those choices.

Can I audition for music scholarships?
Yes! We urge interested high school seniors to prepare audition materials for awards in voice piano instrumental, and composition. The music scholarships range in amounts from $500 to $4,000 per year. Call the OBU Division of Music for applications and information regarding these auditions.
