Dr. Kevin Pruiett not only directs the Bison Jazz Orchestra, but he also teaches a variety of courses including Jazz Improvisation and Instrumental Music in the Church. He is currently completing a doctorate in trumpet performance at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Over the years, his teachers have included Dr. Michael Ewald and Ray Sasaki at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Dr. W. Parker Melvin at Eastern Illinois University, Randy Reyman and Dr. Christopher Krummel at Millikin University. Beyond his teaching schedule and work on his doctorate, Pruiett teaches private trumpet lessons.
