Keyboard Studies
OBU has a long-established tradition of excellence in the area of keyboard instruction, both in private and group study. Students reap the benefits of quality instruction with individual attention from full-time faculty committed to their musical development and well-being. Facilities are conveniently located on campus and include grand piano practice rooms, a piano pedagogy suite complete with resource center, a Yamaha Clavinova class piano lab, and a recital hall with two Steinway concert grand pianos. Potter Auditorium in Raley Chapel houses a magnificent Reuter pipe organ with 52 ranks as well as a Steinway grand piano.
Our goal is for all keyboard students to develop their talent, skill and musicianship to their fullest potential. The outcome is that they will be successful as classroom and studio teachers as well as church musicians. Many have chosen the path of graduate school after OBU and have been accepted into prestigious schools such as: The New School for Music Study (
