Applied Communication

The goal of Applied Communication is to help you learn and apply important principles of communication that will help you succeed in your career and in your personal life. Applied Communication students have a tradition of being active in university life. They seek ministry opportunities, build lifelong relationships, and then get great jobs! Our students often become leaders on campus, and consequently become leaders in their profession.
Our courses introduce you to communication principles in organizations, across cultures, in the family, and in public communication. You will also learn how to deal with conflict effectively, analyze messages you receive, and collect information for making good decisions. These are all skills that will help you build successful relationships in any profession! You will also have opportunities to take courses that will help you prepare for your own career goals.
Our graduates pursue a variety of careers. We have students who have taken entry level positions as communication directors & coordinators in organizations, and others work in event planning, sales, management, public relations, corporate training and facilitation, development, administration, advertising and marketing. Other students have pursued graduate studies in Communication, Law, Business, Human Relations, Political Science, Counseling and Seminary. As you can see, there are many paths that can be followed with an Applied Communication degree in hand! Our students are getting to do what they really want to do. Applied Communication is an excellent choice for students seeking greater flexibility in selecting a career path and for students considering graduate school.
