Biochemistry

The Biochemistry major provides a broad but rich competence in the knowledge and methods of both Biology and Chemistry. This is accomplished through introductory and advanced courses of Biology and Chemistry, supportive courses of Math and Physics and professor-directed laboratories with modern biochemical instrumentation. Whether a student is preparing for an M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or a Ph.D. program in a biomedical science discipline like Pharmacology, Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology or Biochemistry, the Biochemistry major prepares them comprehensively for their future.

“Biochemistry explains the beauty of Biology with the precision of Chemistry” – Dr. Mark Hemric.
