Language and Literature Divisional Chair Anne Hammond teaches both English and Strategic Communications courses. She judges college yearbooks for the College Press and the Associated Press and is a frequent workshop presenter for College Media Advisors. She received the Distinguished Yearbook Adviser Award from College Media Advisers. Six separate years, she has received certificates of Distinguished Service to the University. OBU awarded her with the Promising Teacher Award in 1989. Outside of OBU, Prof. Hammond is a member of the Pioneer Library System Board. As a member of First Baptist Church in Shawnee, she sings in the sanctuary choir and is on the Personnel Committee. She is married to Paul Hammond, Dean and Professor of Music, Warren M. Angell College of Fine Arts at OBU.
