There are many career opportunities available to students who have a degree in psychology, whether it be a bachelor's or a graduate degree.Students with a bachelor's degree in psychology often find work in helping professions, but are by no means limited to these careers. The work that you do in psychology will provide you with valuable skills of communication and will teach you to think critically in whatever your situation. Students who major in Family Psychology have many choices of careers.
Both the Psychology and Family Psychology degrees at OBU prepare students for a wide range of jobs. Generally, however, students who choose a major of Family Psychology are interested in the counseling or therapy aspects of society. Required courses reflect this emphasis, including Family Communication, Basic Counseling Skills, Family Therapy and Practice, and others.
