Gerry Nixon came to OBU in 2009 with over thirty-five years of accounting and higher education experience. Most recently, Mr. Nixon has been the budget director for Oklahoma Christian University. He has held numerous other positions in higher education including controller, vice-president for finance and operations, and faculty. He has also been athletic director and women's basketball coach at two previous colleges.

Besides his higher education background, Mr. Nixon has also been involved in public accounting. He has been a staff accountant, senior accountant, manager, and partner. He was a partner in the accounting firm of Mierau & Nixon, CPAs, PC, a local accounting firm in Nebraska. He has also previously served as an instructor for a CPA review course.
Mr. Nixon brings a wealth of practical and teaching experience to OBU. He is married (Janet) and has two grown children (Jonathan and Katie).
