Cindy Meyer Hanchey is the Ernest C. Wheeler Chair of Business and Associate Professor of Computer Science in the Paul Dickinson School of Business at Oklahoma Baptist University. She began teaching at OBU in the fall of 1985. Prior to arriving at OBU, Dr. Hanchey taught in the Computer Science Department at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge for over thirteen years. She was the third faculty member hired into that program and was recruited for that position based on her background in business.

Dr. Hanchey has published extensively. Her research areas of interest include curriculum development, gender issues, and ethics. She is active in many professional organizations and has consulted for the National Science Foundation and other organizations. A member of First Baptist Church in Shawnee, Dr. Hanchey was ordained as a deacon in 2002. She is activities coordinator for The Lion’s Den Sunday School class.

The Hanchey family consists of husband, Dale Hanchey, who serves as McCasland Associate Professor of Computer Science at OBU, daughters (Jennifer Hanchey Thompson and Jessica Hanchey), son-in-law (Jay Thompson), and granddaughters (Ava and Audrey).
